Retail Sales Associate
If you aspire for adventure, especially in the water, and would like to help others do the same, this might be the perfect opportunity for you!
We seek full-time and/or part-time, highly motivated, initiative taking individuals to join our team. The ideal candidate should have experience working with clients in problem resolution and retail sales.
This position requires weekends availability.
What qualities we are looking for:
Effective communication skills.
Basic computer software handling skills.
Scuba Diving certification (Open Water DIver or higher) - preferred.
Ability to lift and move large packages/ objects.
Availability to work during our business hours, including weekends. 30-40 hours per week.
Previous retail experience is preferred but not mandatory.

What you will do:
Promptly initiate a conversation with customers with a friendly and outgoing attitude.
Help keep the Underwater Connection brand experience consistent, positive, and welcoming.
Maintain and stock work areas, making sure all items are accurately priced and following visual merchandising guidelines.
Provide customers with accurate information about equipment, classes, travel, and all services provided by Underwater Connection.
Process purchases of products, classes, and service at the register.
Perform unique transactions such as special orders, courses and travel registration.
Assist with daily opening and closing duties, as well as other daily/weekly tasks.
Maintain current knowledge of all products and services offered by Underwater Connection.
Ensure the showroom, classrooms, and overall facilities are clean.
Handle inbound and outbound calls and emails related to customer requests and orders.
Help with receiving orders from vendors.
Assist with classroom preparation for students.
Rental equipment check-in and check-out.
Assist with inventory counting.
Operation of scuba tank fill station following safety guidelines.
Additional duties as assigned.

Swim Teacher
If you are a swim teacher that is committed to teaching life saving skills to all ages and levels, this might be the perfect opportunity for you!
We seek highly motivated, certified swim teachers for our indoor facility offering programming for infants, children and adults.
Swim lessons are taught Monday through Friday, from 8am until 6pm. Your availability should fall within those times.
What qualities we are looking for:
Current CPR & First Aid certification - required.
Exceptional communication skills with parents and co-workers.
Ability to work in the water for periods of up to 6 hours.
Nationally recognized swim instructor certification - required (American Red Cross WSI / Lifeguard preferred - we can provide certification if needed).
The ability to work a consistent schedule once your own classes have been assigned.
Punctuality and attendance are critical.
Experience teaching swimming lessons or previous competitive swimming experience is not mandatory but preferred.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Ability to follow and enforce all pool standards and rules.
Availability during weekdays between 8am and 6pm, year round.
What you will do:
Evaluate new students for skills and comfort levels; properly position new students in our swim program.
Follow our swim program guidelines and work with students to build skill and confidence over time.
Effectively communicate with students/parents.
Be prepared for classes on time. Being punctual is imperative.
Help maintain organization and cleanliness of the pool deck, and swim props/equipment.
Cooperate with the team of instructors to ensure a positive learning experience for all involved.

As you know, dive professionals can participate in many roles in a dive center. Since this is an ongoing opening (we are always on the lookout for great talent!) we cannot give too many specifics on a particular role, but we can say what we expect of every scuba professional in Underwater Connection’s staff:
Impeccable customer service.
Mastery of scuba skills for all levels you are able to teach.
Demonstration of proper trim and buoyancy not only during classes but whenever in the water.
Knowledge of features and benefits of various dive equipment systems and brands (we are happy to train you on the equipment we carry).
Safety first approach in all scenarios and sound risk management.
Ability to manage dive sites, classrooms, and overall logistics.
