Technical Diving
Are you ready to explore further and/or deeper? Ready to visit the wrecks and pristine reefs that few have the chance to see with their own eyes? Ready to push yourself and bring your underwater skills to a whole new level? If you answered yes to any of those questions, you are in the right place!
UWC’s Technical Diving program can be taken on either sidemount or backmount configurations. If you wish to take the class in the sidemount configuration you will need be certified in sidemount first.
In either configuration, the first step is to take the XR Foundations class, which teaches the advanced buoyancy control, trim and fining techniques needed to begin technical diver training.

There are a few basic steps between you and the thrill of great depths! Each of these courses are detailed below.
XR Foundations
Extended Range Nitrox
Pricing: $550
Learn the basic skills a technical diver must master to dive at greater depths with longer bottom times and limited decompression. This program will open the doors to a world of exploration!
You will learn:
Use of optimized nitrox to make longer dives.
Dive to depths of up to 130ft using high oxygen mixes (up to 50% EAN) for added safety.
Decompression up to a maximum of 15 minutes.
Introduction to specialized extended range diving equipment.
Proper use of a stage cylinder.
Prerequisites:
Must be certified in XR Foundations with a Tech Pass, or equivalent, within the last 2 years.
Must be a certified Deep Diver.
Must be a certified Nitrox Diver.
Minimum age: 18 years old.
Must have 24 logged dives.
Course Fees Include:
Class & Pool sessions.
Open water dives.
XR Digital Kit ($85 value).
Tank rentals for pool sessions.
Air fills for pool sessions.

Tanks for certification dives (available for rental).
Gases for certification dives.
Travel expenses for dives.
Extended Range - Trimix
Pricing: $650
* Combine the XR Nitrox and Trimix courses for only $1050!
This program will take your technical diving skills further and allow you to explorer deeper and longer, with increased decompression and a second stage cylinder!
Use of optimized nitrox and limited trimix to maker longer dives.
Dive to depths as deep as 150ft.
Dive with decompression up to a maximum of 25 minutes breathing hyperoxic gases.
Technical diving team work.
Dive planning techniques using different algorithms.
Prerequisites:
Must be certified in
XR Foundations with a Tech Pass, or equivalent, within the last 2 years.Must be a certified Deep Diver.
Must be a certified Nitrox Diver.
Must be certified in XR Nitrox, or equivalent.
Minimum age: 18 years old.
Must have 50 logged dives.
Course Fees Include:
Class & Pool sessions.
Open water dives.
XR Digital Kit ($85 value) - same from XR Nitrox.
Tank rentals for pool sessions.
Air fills for pool sessions.

One of the documents required for these courses is a Medical Statement signed by a physician or other legally certified medical provider. The release must be signed regardless of your answers to the questionnaire. Click HERE to download the form. Please remember that the 3rd page of the Divers Medical release must be signed by a DO, MD or other legally certified medical provider, a Doctor’s note cannot be accepted.
