This specialty provides the skills and concepts required to safely and comfortably dive at night or in limited
visibility conditions.

Some of the ocean's most amazing creatures only come out at night, so your diving doesn't have to end when the sun goes down.

Go night diving and see the underwater world in a whole new light – a dive light!

What you will learn:

  • The planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of night diving.

  • Proper procedures for buoyancy control, navigation and communication.

  • Use of dive lights and buddy-system techniques.

  • Disorientation and emergency procedures.

  • Orientation to nocturnal aquatic life.

Prerequisites:

Number of dives: 2.

Category 2 Specialty

($300 each or any 2 in category 2 for $500)

Important note:

One of the documents required for this course is the Medical Statement. Depending on your answers to the questionnaire a physician’s release might be required prior to you getting in the water. It is important to read the form ahead of time so you have plenty of time to set a physician’s appointment if necessary. Click HERE to download the form.

Don’t worry if you still are unsure whether a signature is required for your form or not, once you sign the course’s paperwork we will contact you about it if needed. Please remember that the physician’s release must be signed by a DO or MD only - signatures from PA-C, NP, etc. cannot be accepted.
